On Friday, January 4th just after 3:00pm our members respond to the LIRR crossing and Larkfield Rd for a train vs pedestrian accident. Responders were on scene in less then a minute and began treating a patient who had been struck by a passenger train approximately 50 feet east of the crossing. The patient was treated, packaged and transported to an area hospital with non life threatening injuries. Larkfield Rd remained closed for approximately an hour while the MTA LIRR conducted an accident investigation. No passengers or crew members were injured in the incident.
