Earlier this evening just as crews were cleaning up to go back in to service from a small outside fire on the south side of town, our dispatch center began to receive multiple phone calls for a vehicle fire on Pulaski Road in the vicinity of Elwood Road. Engine 2-10-6 was out the door responding in under a minute and on scene in under three minutes. Crews arrived to find a heavily involved engine compartment fire that had extended into the passenger compartment of a four door Jeep SUV. Crews checked to ensure all occupants had self evacuated and began to extinguish the fire. Crews operated on the scene for just over a half hour. There were no injuries.
